Semi-basements of houses in Rhodes were flooded

According to information from RODIAKIS, the Fire Service of Rhodes has so far received many calls to hurry for help, while water pumping has also started in semi-basements of houses within the city of Rhodes. There was also a problem with some stormwater wells.

The problems are focused up to this time, on Kanada streets, Christou Tsigande, in areas of Rodini, on the road network on Rhodes – Kamiro, while earlier a fire broke out in a house in the village of Fanes, without causing any serious problems.

The executives and members of all services, agencies and volunteers are however on constant alert as the emergency warning due to the bad weather is still in effect.

Problems in Epirus

The most serious problems in Epirus concern landslides that occurred and are still occurring on almost the entire road network, according to epiruspost.gr

A bridge in Tzoumerka, in Raftanitiko, was closed as the central podium gave way, while late in the afternoon a bridge also collapsed in Komboti, Arta, as a result of which traffic was interrupted.

The Civil Protection of the Region of Epirus intervenes with dozens of machines, while the services of the Municipalities are also on foot.

The solutions given at this stage are tentative in order to make the traffic even with difficulties and from Monday extensive work will be done in all the points required.

Serious flooding has so far been avoided, but almost all the rivers of Epirus are in borderline condition, especially Kalamas and Acheron.

The services are on standby as if the rains continue it is very likely that problems will arise.
