At least 20 arrests with one injured among those arrested in incidents on the protest march

Incidents took place at the gathering and protest march held in the center of Athens for the death of the 16-year-old Roma who ended up after several days of hospitalization in the “Hippocrates” ICU in Thessaloniki after being shot by a police officer of the DI.AS Team, during a pursuit.
The authorities proceeded to arrest at least 20 people on Tuesday September Street.
In fact, among the victims of the incidents there was also an injured person who was received by the EKAV.
In particular, flash grenades and chemicals fell on Panepistimi Street, at the end of the march.
Incidents also occurred in Stadiou where chemicals fell and Ayantas took action.
A suffocating atmosphere prevailed in the area, however the situation was soon normalized.
The march passed through the Parliament, the Propylaia and headed towards Omonia where the bulk of it ended up to be disbanded afterwards.
Some, however, continue towards Exarchia through Emmanuel Benakis.
There was also a minor tension in Omonia between a group of people and the MAT men who used chemicals.
More than 10 organizations, anarchists and collectives participate in the protest that took place in Propylaia.
The streets of Panetisio and Patision were closed, while by order of the police it was decided to close the metro station Panetisio at 18:00.
The roads were handed over to traffic shortly after 21:00, while around the same time the metro resumed its routes.
Earlier, OASA suspended services on eight bus lines of the network in view of the gatherings that are expected to take place after the announcement of the 16-year-old’s death.
The announcement in detail
In view of the safe movement of MMM and the passenger public, it is announced that today 13/12/2022, there will be changes in the operation of bus lines as follows:
Gradual stoppage of bus line 723 FYLI – ANO LIOSIA (CIRCULAR), with the last route at 16:00
Suspension of the following bus lines from 17:00 until the end of the shift:
