The Santa Run in the municipality of Piraeus is an institution
The streets of central Piraeus were filled with hundreds of Santa Clauses, in the most special sports route, the 3rd Santa Run Piraeus 2022, organized for the third year in the city.
Young and old wore royal costumes and ran starting at Korai Square and ending at the emblematic Municipal Theater, giving hundreds of smiles to passing visitors and spreading the message of Christmas joy.
The most entertaining Christmas “race”, organized by the Organization of Culture, Sports and Youth of the Municipality of Piraeus with the support of the Association of Health Runners of Piraeus, in the context of the festive events of the Municipality of Piraeus.
The mayor of Piraeus, Mr. Yiannis Moralis, in his statement, emphasized: “Piraeus is full of Saints! Well done to everyone, young and old, who dressed up as Santa Claus and ran through the main streets of the city, to spread the message of Christmas joy.”
Congratulations to the Culture, Sports and Youth Organization of the Municipality of Piraeus for organizing the 3rd Santa Run and to the Health Runners Association of Piraeus – SDYP for their valuable support! And next year, let’s be good! Happy Birthday!”.
The President of the Culture, Sports and Youth Organization of the Municipality of Piraeus, Mr. Iosif Vourakis, in his statement, noted:
“Like every year, this year we are faithful to our appointment with Santa Claus, faithful to the appointment to turn Piraeus red. Now, the Santa Run in our city has become an institution. An idea that started four years ago, with one interruption due to the pandemic.
As we usually say, Christmas is a holiday mainly for children. So we too find the opportunity to be children again and have a good time.
I wish happy holidays to everyone and may we always be happy and smiling, as we are today.”
The President of the Association of Piraeus Health Runners, Mr. Angelos Samios, in his statement, pointed out:
“We are happy to support the “SANTA RUN”, as well as the Municipality of Piraeus and O.P.A.N. it helps us in our own struggle, the “Vartzakeio” road.
It is a very beautiful action which has already been established in Piraeus. The response of the people is very great and it is very nice this whole scene with the Santa Clauses pouring into the streets of Piraeus”
