Shortly after 9:30 p.m., a black-clad man wearing a hood and surgical mask appears among the crowded tables and shoots his victims.
ELAS attributes the cold-blooded execution of two men of Albanian origin, aged 41 and 44, late on Sunday evening, December 18, 2022, in the central square of Nea Smyrni, to settling accounts for the affairs of the night.
It all happened shortly after 9:30 p.m., when a man dressed in black appeared outside the store, who seems to have seen the scene before.
The man, who was wearing a hooded sweatshirt and a surgical mask, walked over to the table where the two victims were sitting and suddenly pulled out a handgun and started shooting them. He fled immediately after.
Police officers are checking the security cameras of the wider area to see the perpetrator’s escape route, taking statements from eyewitnesses, while looking for “answers” in the criminal past of the two victims.
Shocking is the testimony of a resident on who was at the scene when the attacker opened fire in the coffee bar.
“I was sitting on the bench when I heard the shots. 4-5 must have fallen. Instinctively I ducked down until I realized what was going on. I turned around and saw people shouting in the bar and chaos… Panic prevailed. I didn’t see if there was one or more perpetrators,” the eyewitness told skai.gr.
