Kostas Bakoyannis: Inauguration of ten neighborhoods of Athens that are transformed into colorful Christmas villages

Following the map of the village, the little visitors will discover the magical route with the final destination of Santa’s house

From December 23rd to January 6th, the Municipality of Athensthrough the Culture, Sports & Youth Organization (OPANDA), 10 neighborhoods of Athens, in order to enhance the festive atmosphere in the city.

Santa Claus and his elves welcome young and old every day in the squares: Messolonghiou (Pagrati), Heldreich (Neos Kosmos), Jacqueline de Romigi (Thisio), Agia Ekaterini (Kato Petralona), Athanasios Diakos (Thymarakia), Nathanael (St. Eleftherios), Agios Andreas (Labrini), Agios Panteleimons, Agios Dimitrios (Panormou, Ampelokipoi) and Gika (Greno-Russian).

On Friday, December 23 at Ghika Square, at 5:30 p.m., the mayor Kostas Bakoyannis in a festive atmosphere will inaugurate the Christmas villages, which will be “open” every day: 11:30 – 14:00 & 15:00 – 20:00 | Saturday 31.12: 11:00 – 17:00. The opening night will be filled with festive tunes by Petros Kourtis and the band with Molyvenii Stratiotes.

“This year’s Christmas gets sparkle and rhythm from the neighborhoods of the city! Ornaments, light, sparkle, but also a very rich quality program for the whole family, which we prepared with great care in collaboration with the cultural organizations of the Municipality of Athens. This Christmas we enjoy again with our children, the neighborhoods, the center, the squares and the streets of the city. I hope they will be unforgettable for us. Happy holidays!” said the mayor Kostas Bakoyannis.

At the same time, artistic activities such as puppet shows, shows with magical soap bubbles, Christmas tales, games with the Christmas elf, etc.
