The passage at 26,000 feet from Farmakonisi is dangerous, as it is within the framework of the height limits of civil aircraft flights in the area
After Kinaro and Glaros, another pair of Turkish F-16 entered the Athens FIR today without filing a flight plan, violated national airspace and then flew:
-At 11:07 in the morning up Farmakonisi at 29,000 feet,
-Three minutes later over the Leipsos at 28,000 feet and the Arkios at 29,000 feet,
-At 11:18 am above Agathonisi at 29,000 feet and
-Five minutes later again over Farmakonissi at 26,000 feet.
On the occasion of her overflight over Farmakonissi at 26,000 feetsources of the Ministry of National Defense observed that the flight height of the Turkish aircraft poses the risk of an accident as it is part of the context of altitude limits of civil aircraft in the area and affects a multitude of airstrips under the control of the Athens FIR.
In all cases, the Turkish aircraft were recognized and intercepted by Greek fighters, in accordance with international rules and standard practice, as announced by the Greek Air Force.

Meanwhile, there was another overflight from the Turkish side at 12:42, by an unmanned UAV over Kinrosta 19,000 feet.
