Criminal prosecution of Panagiotis Dimitras for criminal organization and facilitating immigrants

Criminal prosecution against Panagiotis Dimitras, director of the Hellenic Observatory of the Helsinki Agreements (EPSE), for criminal organization and facilitating immigrants, was brought by the public prosecutor’s office of Kos. At the same time, prosecution was brought against Tommy Olsen, founder and director of the Aegean Boat Report organization.

Both are accused of “establishing a criminal organization with the purpose of obtaining information from third-country nationals who attempt illegal entry into Greece, in order to facilitate their illegal entry and residence, by sending the authorities their full information and their exact location in country, in order for the latter to be subject to the asylum procedures”.

And all this with the aggravating circumstance of committing these crimes “professionally, as from the infrastructure he has created (that is, the operation of the organization Hellenic Observatory of the Helsinki Agreements) there is an intention to repeatedly commit the act and a finding of income”.

It is recalled that recently the Aegean Boat Report had republished Ankara’s fake news based on which Greece is militarizing the Greek islands.
