The AADE algorithm “showed” tax evasion of more than 14 million euros by 65 companies

The Auditors identified 65 companies, with undeclared sales of more than 14 million euros.

Another 65 businesses, from the catering sector, were found by AADE auditors to be evading taxes, through sales on order-taking platforms, for which they either did not cut receipts, or did not record them in their tax returns.

The cooperation with the delivery platforms and their analysis through the special algorithm of AADE, led to the identification of discrepancies between the amounts of the orders and those officially declared to the Tax Office.

The Auditors identified 65 companies, with undeclared sales of more than 14 million euros.

Indicatively, the 23 most important cases are mentioned:

1. A cafe in Crete, for the years 2019 to 2020, was found not to have submitted income tax and VAT returns, concealing revenues of 1.45 million euros.

2. In a restaurant in the Central Athens sector, for the years 2019 to 2021, it was found that 91,300 tax items with a total net value of 685,000 euros had not been issued.

3. In a creperie in Epirus, for the years 2017 to 2019, it was found that 92,800 tax data were not issued, concealing taxable material of 400,000 euros.

4. In a creperie in Thessaly, for the years 2018 to 2020, it was found that 40,400 tax data were not issued, concealing taxable material amounting to 285,000 euros.

5. In a refreshment shop in Thessaloniki, for the years 2018 to 2020, it was found that 42,500 tax data were not issued with a total amount of hidden material of 275,000 euros.

6. In a pizzeria in Magnesia, for the years 2018 to 2020, non-issue was found in 20,300 cases, with a total amount of hidden material of 211,000 euros.

7. In a refreshment bar in the Southern sector of Athens, for the years 2019 to 2021, it was found that 62,350 tax items with a total value of 200,000 euros had not been issued.

8. In a restaurant in Achaia, for the years 2017 to 2019, it was found that an unspecified amount of tax information was not issued with a total amount of hidden material of 180,000 euros.

9. In a restaurant in Achaia, for the years 2017 to 2019, it was found that tax information was not issued in 27,550 cases with a total amount of hidden material of 185,000 euros.

10. In a kitchen in Thessaloniki, for the years 2019 to 2022, it was found that tax information was not issued in 9,000 cases with a total amount of hidden material of 170,000 euros.

11. In a restaurant in Achaia, for the years 2017 to 2019, it was found that tax information was not issued in 38,700 cases with a total amount of hidden material of 165,000 euros.

12. In a restaurant in Achaia, for the years 2017 to 2020, it was found that tax information was not issued in 20,000 cases with a total amount of hidden material of 160,000 euros.

13. In a restaurant in Achaia, for the years 2017 to 2020, it was found that 3,400 tax records had not been issued, concealing taxable material amounting to 140,000 euros.

14. In a coffee shop in Ioannina, for the years 2017 to 2018, it was found that 730 tax data were not issued, concealing taxable material amounting to 100,000 euros.

15. A limited liability company in Athens whose business is the provision of catering services, it was found that during the years 2016 to 2019 it did not issue income tax information in 40,400 cases, with a total net value of 318,000 euros.

16. A limited liability company in Athens with the business of providing catering services, it was found that it submitted inaccurate income tax and VAT returns for the years 2020 to 2021, concealing taxable income of 940,000 euros.

17. A sole proprietorship in Thessaloniki, with coffee and snacks as its object, it was found that for the years 2018 to 2019, it did not issue 101,300 tax documents, with a net value of 540,000 euros.

18. A sole proprietorship in Athens whose business is the provision of catering services, it was found that for the years 2018 to 2019, it did not submit income tax returns, concealing taxable income of 350,000 euros.

19. A sole proprietorship based in Thessaloniki and engaged in the provision of catering services, during the years 2019-2021, did not issue 12,900 tax details. The net value of the items in question amounted to 125,000 euros.

20. A sole proprietorship based in Patras and engaged in services provided by a refreshment center (entertainment center), during the years 2017-2020, did not issue 54,700 tax details. The net value of the items in question amounted to 295,000 euros.

21. A general partnership based in Corinth and engaged in services provided by a cafeteria, during the years 2016-2021, did not issue tax information. The net value of the items in question amounted to 950,000 euros.

22. A private capital company based in Chania and engaged in the provision of catering services, during the years 2018-2020, did not issue 137,000 tax records. The net value of the items in question amounted to 1,090,000 euros.

23. A sole proprietorship with the business of a refreshment bar and headquarters in Athens, during the years 2018-2020, did not issue 133,000 tax records, with a net value of 535,000 euros.

Investigations will continue into 2023 as there are a number of targeted cases underway.
