The 22.9 million euros concern 10,075 island businesses and the 7.1 million euros, 134,705 inhabitants of the islands
From the next Wednesday, December 28 and until the end of the year the credit to the accounts of citizens and businesses will have been completed, beneficiaries of the Transportation Equivalentwith 30 million euros, of which 22.9 million pertain to 10,075 island businesses and 7.1 million to 134,705 island residents.
The disbursement of the Transport Equivalent for island companies proceeds after the completion of the necessary checks by the Services of the General Secretariat of the Aegean and Islands Policy and concerns bills of lading and transport costs a) 429 companies of the control sample of the A semester of 2021, b) 465 companies of control sample of the B semester of 2021 and c) 9,181 businesses outside the control sample of the B semester of 2021. For citizens, it concerns the period up to 4/28/2022.
At the same time, the procedures are progressing so that, by the end of January 2023, the payment of passengers for the period from 29/4/2022 to 30/9/2022, as well as payments of citizens and businesses for the fuel part of the year 2022, will proceed .
It is noted that the General Secretariat of the Aegean and Islands Policy has included the Transport Equivalent measure in the Sectoral Development Program 2021-2025, while taking the necessary actions to ensure the flow of payments and its inclusion in financial European programs, while at the same time, care is taken to continuously evaluate and improve the effectiveness of the measure in order to have an even greater positive impact on island societies.
