Unanimously guilty was judged by the Mixed Jury Court of Rethymno o father of 20-year-old Yiannis from Glossa, Municipality of Platanias, Chania, for complicity in continuous rape and ill-treatment of him.

It is worth noting that the prosecutor proposed the guilt of the 67-year-old father for negligence and the guilt of his 68-year-old friend for rape.
At the same time, he proposed the acquittal of: his 72-year-old uncle and priest, the 44-year-old priest and his 42-year-old brother.
It is recalled that based on the indictment, Giannis allegedly suffered abuse and rape from the age of 14 until he was 19 years old, with his father’s 68-year-old friend being accused of continuously raping him 20 times, as well as gang-raped him 2 times.
The apologies
Last Wednesday the accused apologized before the court.
First, the 68-year-old apologized who, after describing how he lived in the village before his arrest, said that the child never entered his house and always came with his father. In the end, all he asked for was his freedom, as he characteristically said, all this is unfair.
Then the 67-year-old father of Yiannis emphasized in his apology that he had a very good relationship with his son, he loved him and that the social worker who dealt with the case and “broke his house up” is to blame for all of this. At the same time, he said that until the last forensic examination, he did not believe that Giannis had rushed.
The 72-year-old later pleaded not guilty and was on trial for a a crime he did not commit. He also said that children like John often imagine things.
Finally, the 44-year-old and the 42-year-old once again denied the accusations, saying that they never touched him and claimed that the 19-year-old is a liar.
