Athens will welcome 2023 in Syntagma Square – Party until the morning in Varvakeio Agora
“Appointment” in Syntagma Square from 10:00 on New Year’s Eve, the municipality of Athens and the residents of the capital celebrate the change of the new year.
Marios Fragoulis and George Perrisaccompanied by a 10-member orchestra of skilled musicians and soloists, with songs and favorite melodies and a program specially made for this year’s holidays, will welcome the new year in the festive and bright Syntagma Square.
Athens is getting ready to experience the most hopeful night of the year with a highly aesthetic spectacle in Syntagma Square and a midnight party for all, in the emblematic market of Varvakeio.
The hosts of the evening, which will start at 10:30 p.m., will be Fotis Sergoulopoulos and Jeni Melita, the favorite television duo of ERT presenters who participate non-profitably in the festive program of the Municipality of Athens.
A few minutes before midnight, the Mayor of Athens, Kostas Bakoyannis, will take the stage. Together with the Athenians, he will start counting down to the change of time, which as always will be broadcast live on ERT1.
The arrival of the new year will mark the beginning of a big happy celebration in every corner of Athens with music, joy, fireworks.
In Syntagma Square, the musical baton will receive the high energy dance cover band of Bejeezus who will lift our spirits with pop, swing, latin and rock ‘n’ roll rhythms for endless dancing!
A little further but always in the heart of Athens, in the portico of Varvakiou, the Municipality of Athens with the most important DJs of Athens create an open party for everyone that will last until the early hours of the morning.
