The Guild of Bakers of Athens, Suburbs and Surroundings and the Municipality of Peristeri, in a unique celebration, will once again create this year’s largest Vasilopita, with more than 50,000 pieces and many flours that will correspond to gifts.
The biggest celebration for the New Year will start on Friday, December 30, 2022, at 17:30 at the Town Hall Square – “Peristeri” Metro stop.
The Vasilopita will exceed 7 tons in weight and at the end it will be cut and distributed to the citizens who will attend the big celebration for the New Year!
Dozens of artisanal bakeries (neighborhood bakeries), experienced bakers will undertake the creation of the king pie from early in the morning. In detail, the materials that will be used to create the king cake: 4,000 kg Pastry Flour, 2,000 kg Oil, 1,000 kg Sugar, 500 kg baking powder, 50 kg baking powder, 2,000 eggs, 1,500 oranges, 50 kg brandy, 4 boxes of vanilla.
