Metropolitan Gavriil of N. Ionia: “No one alone on New Year’s Eve”

by

With the motto: “no lonely New Year’s Eve”, the Most Reverend Metropolitan of Nea Ionia, Philadelphia, Heraklion and Chalkidon Mr. Gabriel addresses a public call to a Holy Vigil, which he will hold on the evening of Saturday, December 31, New Year’s Eve, and hours 8:00pm-12:30am at the Holy Metropolitan Church of Agioi Anargyro of Nea Ionia, to welcome the new year 2023 .

In his message, His Holiness states:

“My dear brothers,
Thank God, another year comes to an end and a new one in a few days begins.
The beginning of each new year always coincides with the wish and hope that the new year will be better than the previous one.
Many times, in fact, human greed does not allow us to realize how many blessings and how many gifts God’s grace has offered us and instead of being grateful for what we have, we ask for more and more.
The days of the holidays are days of joy. And this is because for many people the holidays, instead of days of joy, rest or an opportunity to meet loved ones, are a slide into bad mood and melancholy.
A sense of loneliness surrounds our being, blackens our hearts and clouds our minds.
For this reason, I invite everyone to make a special New Year’s Eve this year together. A revival that will forever be etched in our hearts.
I invite you on New Year’s Eve in the evening to the Metropolitan Church of Saints Anargyri of Nea Ionia so that we can welcome 2023 together with prayer.
Let’s welcome the new year beloved, united and united around the common Cup of Life. To praise and thank God for what he has blessed us to have or not have.
I am waiting for you to welcome 2023 together. To experience more of God in our lives.
No single New Year’s Eve.
Happy and blessed year!
The Metropolitan
† Of Nea Ionia, Philadelphia,
Gabriel of Heraklion and Chalcedon”
