Extension of vouchers for trips canceled due to pandemic is extended until 31/3/2022

by

The Federation of Hellenic Associations of Travel and Tourism Offices “FedHATTA” expresses its satisfaction for the adoption of a relevant amendment to the recent law of the Ministry of Tourism, which extends until March 31, 2022, the validity of credit vouchers given to consumers , instead of the immediate refund, for trips canceled due to the Covid-19 pandemic, and which were not used until the end of 2021.

This is Article 61 of the new law. Finally, the State understood the serious problem faced by the tourist offices with the return of the specific money during the 18-month expiration of each voucher, in the particularly difficult -economic- period that our tourism is still going through, while they themselves have not taken back the respective amounts from their suppliers (airlines, foreign and domestic hotels) the federation states in a relevant announcement.

This extension will help more vouchers to be used to provide other similar tourism services by travel agencies to consumers, and thus further reduce the amounts due, resulting in the gradual normalization of the situation, always according to the announcement.
