6,180 checks on anti-smoking legislation – 587 violations were confirmed against smoking patrons and managers of health establishments
The Hellenic Police, as part of its duties as a co-competent auditing authority, carries out systematic and targeted daily checks in health shops throughout the countryin order to ensure its implementation anti-smoking legislation.
In this context, from Monday December 26 to Saturday December 31, 2022, were held throughout the territory 6,180 checks on the anti-smoking legislation and were confirmed as a whole 587 related violationsto smoking patrons and managers of health care stores.
Controls to ensure the implementation of anti-smoking legislation will continue unabated.
It is recalled that the co-competent Authorities for ensuring the implementation of the legislative and regulatory framework regarding the total ban on smoking in public places and in all workplaces through the detection of violations and the imposition of sanctions are the Health Services of the Local Government Organizations A’ and B’, the Municipal Police, as well as the Port Authorities in their area of ​​responsibility.
