The funeral of the 16-year-old boxing champion Vassilis Topalos, who died unjustly, will take place today at 14:00 noon in the Holy Church of Agia Triados and will be followed by his burial in the Schistos cemetery.
At the same time, investigations continue to ascertain the cause of the death of the teenage athlete. The Sports Violence Sub-Directorate that investigates the case, studies every piece of evidence in its hands and moves to find what was the exact reason for the unjust death of Vassilis Topalos
It is noted that last night the owner of the school where the athlete collapsed was summoned for additional testimony.
The doctors of the Tzanei hospital, where the 16-year-old Vassilis was taken in a comatose state, immediately subjected him to medical tests, including a CT scan. A hematoma was diagnosed, which required immediate surgery. After undergoing surgery, he was admitted to the intensive care unit. The 16-year-old finally succumbed to his injuries on January 2, 2023.
It is reminded that the forensic examination showed that the hematoma that caused the fatal injury of Vassilis Topalos was created in the right temple and part of the right part of the brain.
The medical examiners who have taken over the case are asked to investigate whether the hematoma that caused the child’s death, came from the fall in the gym or from the blows he received on the head from the Georgian boxer or even from the previous days.
