A large-scale rescue operation is underway since the early hours of the morning in the sea area south of Folegandros, after the sinking of a plastic boat, on which an unknown number of people were aboard. A naval vessel located in the sea area 12 migrants in good health to board a small auxiliary boat.

According to the testimonies of the rescued, the plastic boat with at least 32 people on board suffered mechanical damage due to water inflow and sank.
