The journalistic world is saddened by the death of the economic reporter of ERT Dimitris Petyhakis. The financial reporter, analyst and columnist “passed away” while being treated at the Chania hospital with health problems.
Dimitris Petyhakis was born on July 22, 1953. From an early age he showed his inclination and preference for economic sciences. A graduate of the London School of Economics, he served with knowledge and dedication the information and important moments of the international economy.
The “goodbye of ERT”
Main economic editor of the newspaper “to Vima” and correspondent in Brussels, while he was one of the first Greek journalists accredited by the IMF and the World Bank. On behalf of ERT1 until 1993 and then ERT2, he covered numerous EU Summits and the Davos Economic Forum. He developed social action, through his own… lonely and unconventional way.
He was a member of the Claiming Committee of the Athens Olympic Games.
The funeral of Dimitris Petichakis will take place on Monday at 11 am at Holy Church of Agios Loukas Chania.
