GEETHA: More than 2.5 million vaccinations in the centers staffed by personnel from the Armed Forces

The Armed Forces staffs 8 vaccination centers with 548 people distributed in 176 active vaccination lines, within the framework of their social contribution.

As announced by the General Staff of National Defense (GEETHA), in collaboration with the competent bodies of the state mechanism, they have specialized personnel, means of transport, medical facilities, required materials and have undertaken the management of the supply chain of vaccines and diagnostic tests to deal with of the coronavirus health threat.

From February 15, 2021 to December 20, 2021, 2,573,768 vaccinations have been performed on the vaccinated lines managed by the Armed Forces, with an average of 13,500 vaccinations per day during the current period.

In detail, the staffing of the Armed Forces per vaccination center is as follows:

• HELLEXPO Athens (PROMETHEUS 1 & 2): 186 executives serving 48 vaccination lines, with the assistance of 7 people from the Hellenic Red Cross.

• TIF / HELLEXPO Thessaloniki: 111 executives serving 24 vaccination lines.

• GLYFADA: 24 executives serving 16 vaccination lines with the assistance of 32 people from the Hellenic Red Cross.

• PERISTERI: 148 strains serving 48 vaccination lines.

• PATRAS: 42 strains serving 16 vaccination lines.

• CHANIA (NNK): 16 strains serving 6 vaccination lines.

• LARISSA (404 GSN): 16 strains serving 8 vaccination lines.

• IΩANNINA: 5 executives serving 10 functional vaccination lines, with the assistance of staff from the 6th Health District (6th RAE) of the Ministry of Health

The Deputy Chief of GEETHA, Rear Admiral Ioannis Drymousis, as a representative of the Chief of GEETHA, General Konstantinos Floros, and accompanied by the Director of Health of GEETHA, Lieutenant General Dimitrios Hadjigeorgiou, the Commander of ATA Technical Training, the 8th Mechanized Infantry Brigade and the 5th “Cretan” Infantry Brigade, visited the vaccination centers commanded and staffed by the Armed Forces, to exchange wishes and to congratulate their personnel for their valuable assistance in coronavirus.
