The TV presenter Stathis Panagiotopoulos will spend Christmas in the detention centers, as he was given a deadline to apologize before the 1st regular investigator of Thessaloniki on Monday, 27/12. Until then, he remains in custody at the General Police Directorate of Thessaloniki.
According to the criminal prosecution brought against him by the prosecutor of first instance, he is accused of the crime of “disclosing personal data concerning the sexual life of natural persons, continuously, with the intention of harming another”, which is a felony.
Through his lawyer, the accused TV presenter apologized to the victims, stating that he regretted, while stating that it was his “huge mistake”. He stressed, however, that any pink videos he has published in the past have already been downloaded by him, for many years, and that the posts lately are not related to his face.
Commenting on the prosecution, his lawyer, George Dakouras, spoke of a “legal leap” and “exaggeration, stressing that this act” is not linked to financial gain “. it was a huge mistake. But it has been over for years. “It has nothing to do with the posts found on various websites by an unknown person who may have owned them or reproduced them from the past,” he said in statements outside the Thessaloniki Courthouse. A request was made for the Cybercrime Prosecution to check both the e-mail address and the time of the posts in question.
The 58-year-old defendant had voluntarily surrendered yesterday, Wednesday, to the Cybercrime Prosecution Sub-Directorate of Northern Greece of the Hellenic Police. Following a preliminary investigation conducted against him by the Prosecutor’s Office of Thessaloniki, which was provoked by complaints of his ex-partners for publishing videos of their personal moments on pornographic websites, as well as a complaint with similar content that saw the light of day in the last 24 hours, it was decided his arrest.
