These are six amateur videos that came into the hands of the Greek authorities and in which sailors are depicted loading bags of drugs into banana containers at sea
A major investigation into the involvement of crew members of a shipping giant in cocaine trafficking is being considered by the Greek Justice after the detection of relevant videos by the Greek police in cooperation with the American drug enforcement agency.
According to the report of Nikos Souliotis in the main news bulletin of SKAI, these are six amateur videos that were found on the mobile phone of a Greek convicted of importing 250 kg of cocaine from Ecuador to Attica and in which sailors are depicted loading sacks of drugs into banana containers on board.
The crew members, after hiding the parcels in the fruit cargo, then send the relevant videos to the Greek recipient.
After the detection of the videos, the Piraeus judicial authorities have launched an investigation into the possible involvement of the ship’s crew in the trafficking.
According to the report, the reason for the American investigation was the seizure of 20 tons of cocaine from the cargo ship MSC Gayane in Philadelphia, USA, where it turned out that six crew members, citizens of Serbia and Montenegro, were involved in the unloading and transportation of the drugs.
