Dentist Pass: Free preventive dental check-up for children for the first time

Financial assistance program (dentist pass) for the free preventive dental care of children from 6 to 12 years old are offered for the first time in our country with the bill of the Ministry of Health, which was submitted yesterday to the Parliament (“Sanction a) of the 22.11.2022 Individual Donation Agreement – Project XI, Appendix 13 of the main Donation Agreement dated 6.9.2018 between the “Stavros S. Niarchos Charitable Foundation” and the Greek State for the strengthening and upgrading of infrastructure in the Health sector and b) the 22.11.2022 Amendment of the Donation Agreement dated 6.9.2018 between the Foundation “Stavros S. Niarchos Charitable Foundation” and the Greek State for the strengthening and upgrading of the infrastructure in the field of Health and other provisions of the Ministry of Health’s competence).

In particular, within the framework of the project “Implementation of the National Public Health Prevention Program “Spyros Doxiadis”, of the Recovery and Resilience Fund Greece 2.O. is offered free preventive dental care for children from 6 to 12 years old through the dentist pass.

The financial support is credited to the beneficiaries in digital debit cardissued specifically for this purpose by a credit institution or financial organization, within the meaning of paragraphs 2 and 3 of article 3 of Law 4557/2018 (A’ 139), respectively.

With the bill and in the framework of the implementation of the initiative of the Stavros Niarchos Foundation, a five-year scientific program is designed and implemented to strengthen the mental health sector of children and adolescents in Greece and ensure the quality of care provided in public mental health structures.
