Special emphasis will be given to the police stations in the center of Athens and in Western Attica.

Visit to Omonia Police Department did the Minister of Citizen Protection, Takis Theodorikakos.

From there he announced that from tomorrow the Police Departments of Attica will be reinforced with 600 new special guards.

Special emphasis will be given to the police stations in the center of Athens and in Western Attica.

“The Police arrested 7,000 illegal immigrants in the Attica basin and now we are placing 600 new special guards in the police stations of the Attica basin. The selection is based on where there are vacancies and the biggest crime problem. For this reason, we are particularly strengthening the departments of the Municipality of Athens with 160 police officers and the Police Department of Omonia, which of course has a very heavy workload and is dealing with important issues and important problems, with 20 new special guards” stressed the minister and added:

“The Hellenic Police Headquarters is making sure that the presence of our police officers on the streets and in the neighborhoods is strengthened even more in order to strengthen the citizens’ sense of security even more. We are not complacent. We continue with hard work, with a plan. We support our police officers and do whatever it takes to improve the situation every day. We have a long way to go, but we will have even more positive results.”
