In her testimony, the 25-year-old, who was emotionally charged, claimed that she was in no way aware of the recording, while she reportedly said that after the breakup, her ex-partner called her to help him in a criminal case in which they were involved. she however refused as she did not want further complications.

Finally, the Three-member Misdemeanor Court of Heraklion found the 25-year-old guilty of two charges, imposed a total sentence of one year in prison as he recognized the mitigating factor of post-adolescent age.
He appealed against the first instance decision, hoping that in the appellate court he will be exonerated.
Asked to comment on the decision of the first instance court, the 25-year-old’s lawyer, Mr. Giorgos Zervos, said:My principal feels morally vindicated by the decision. She is a young girl who, despite the strong shock of the kidnapping she suffered, found the courage, with the undivided support of her family, to denounce the act in order to mobilize other victims who have been in a similar position to do the same.”.
