The prime minister appeared convinced that the citizens will trust New Democracy for a second four-year term, underlining meaningfully that experience in crisis management is what counts.

Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis gave a new interview to CNN from Davos, Switzerland, where he is at the World Economic Forum. The prime minister installed her investment grade after the election.

“It will happen as soon as we resolve the political uncertainties, as we have elections in the spring, which I believe we will win,” said Mr. Mitsotakis.

“The economy has done well, so we have more fiscal space. We extended our debt, but the markets did not react, because they understood that it was an isolated event. We still have enough money to support businesses and households. That’s why our economic policy was successful,” he added.

The prime minister appeared convinced that citizens will trust New Democracy for a second four-year term, meaningfully underlining that experience in crisis management is what counts.

“We have kept promises, we are creating trusting relationships with citizens, we have reduced taxes and unemployment, we have supported citizens in difficulties and finally the issue of reliability, stability and predictability is very important for Greece, as Greeks for the first time feel that the country has changed the page and they don’t want to reverse this course,” said Mr. Mitsotakis.

At the same time, Kyriakos Mitsotakis appeared confident thatthere will be no recession this year, as he said, growth is estimated to be close to 2%.

Referring to the war in Ukraine, he said: “We will do the right thing. Our approach is the one that brings results”, he said about the support provided by the European Union to Ukraine.

“We will continue to support Ukraine so that Ukrainians can negotiate peace on the terms they want. They must be able to defend themselves, while at the same time, the channels of communication with Russia must remain open and at some point there will be a negotiation between the two sides. But, Ukraine will dictate the terms of peace. The more successful they are on the field (in terms of battles) the more likely we will get to this point” he concluded.
