How the fake news with little Maria in Evros was set up – Kathimerini’s revelation about the trafficker who gave remote instructions to put make-up on the child and present him as dead – Mitarakis: Possibly a Greek is behind the case.

In an important revelation about the case of “dead Maria” in Evros, the newspaper Kathimerini of Kyriaki is advancing today.

The newspaper reveals the testimony of a Syrian refugee about how the alleged death of “little Maria” was staged and what really happened on the island of Evros last August.

An eyewitness describes how a smuggler paid by the refugees remotely guided their movements through a woman on the island and leaked information and images to social networks.

As the eyewitness said, the woman also conveyed the order to stage, even with the use of make-up, the death of the five-year-old girl.

According to what the Kathimerini journalist said on the SKAI show “Mismatches”, Yannis Souliotisthis is a Syrian refugee who participated in the group of 38 people and according to his version there is no dead child.

He himself said that it was a story they staged, in order to continue their march towards Greek territory unhindered.

The scenario was suggested by the trafficker through a young Syrian woman who was traveling with the group of 38.

The woman had a power bank with her and she made the communications with the trafficker and conveyed the instructions on how they should stage the death of a minor girl.

The young woman, according to the testimony of the Syrian refugee, brought the little girl, laid her down, painted her hands and feet and put some food near her mouth to make it appear that she died of poisoning as a result of a scorpion bite.

He then sent the photo, unknown to whom.

When the photo shoot was over, they washed the child and cut her hair so that she did not resemble the girl in the photo.

A few hours after the photo shoot, the same girl came and, addressing the group, told her compatriots that they would soon be able to leave.

This happened eight days after the group was on the islet awaiting instructions from the trafficker on how to continue their journey to Greece.

Some of the group had tried to cross the border earlier, but “some people dressed in black” had forced them back to Istanbul.

As the witness said, the choice of this particular girl was made because the father of the family had given less money than the rest to pass to Greece.

Mitarakis: A Greek may be behind the case

The question that arises from the fabricated case of the dead child in Evros is who were the people who orchestrated this incident, said the Minister of Immigration and Asylum speaking to Open, Notis Mitarakissaying that possibly a Greek is behind the case.

Mr. Mitarakis states that “all the evidence showed that the family that arrived in our country had declared four children. All the photos that appeared in the international media showed four children and claimed that there was a fifth. They criticized me for commenting on the case that is in court, while the media that reproduced the fake news had the right to do so. Some correspondents judged that the government had no right to do that.”

And he continued: “Several things emerge from this case. First of all, it turns out that there was no fifth child and as the Prime Minister had said in the Parliament, some people christened her Mary on the day of the Virgin Mary, because it was August 15 and we are waiting for Mr. Tsipras to finally understand that he has fallen victim to a scam. It’s good to admit we were wrong, it’s not bad. He did us a lot of damage.”

“The question that arises is who were the people who orchestrated this incident. The trafficker mentioned in the reports is likely to be Greek.

We do not have the information that he was Turkish. Greeks are likely to be involved in this specific case of fabricating the death of a child.
I have filed a report with the Supreme Court prosecutor, there is an open case, many things are being investigated at the moment. The other thing that emerges is that one of the 38 migrants who appears as the group’s spokesperson does not exist in the documents of the European Court of Human Rights. That is, it seems that a person who played the role of the group’s press representative does not appear in the testimony of the two NGOs.

So it seems that he went to Evros at the last minute to play the role of the orchestrator of the propaganda against Greece and I think the time has come for justice to call these people without trial to testify because we are not just talking about an attempt to deceive the Greek authorities but we are also talking about an attempt to create tension in Evros”, said Mr. Mitarakis.

Petsas on SKAI: The issue with the dead girl in Evros is fabricated – Mr. Tsipras should apologize for uncritically adopting it

Some uncritically adopted the fabricated article against Greece about the dead girl in Evros, Deputy Interior Minister Stelios Petsas told SKAI and the “Kalimera” show with Giorgos Autias.

“It is unacceptable, whether political forces or individual persons, to immediately adopt such fabricated issues in order to damage the image of Greece abroad and exploit some micro-political benefits at home. It is unacceptable, he must be isolated and everyone must apologise, with Mr. Tsipras first. He had already drawn his conclusion, he had condemned Greece and was trying to gain any petty political benefit from this national issue,” added Mr. Petsas.
