Bad weather has arrived in Attica for a while now and there are heavy rains and thunderstorms, while intense hailstorms occurred in the center of Athens. Problems since yesterday afternoon in various areas of the country, mainly in Zakynthos and Imathia.
A message was sent shortly before 11 a.m. to the residents of Attica:
Accumulation of water in the Faleri delta has caused traffic problems, while drivers are moving at reduced speeds.

Landslides and problems in Zakynthos
The new bad weather that has been “hitting” since yesterday, in the southern Ionian, caused serious problems in Zakynthos. From midday, flooding began to occur in various parts of the island, specifically in Lagana, Kalamaki and Agios Dimitris.
In Argasi, Zakynthos, the fire brigade freed and transported to a safe place a man from a car that had stopped due to high water levels on the road.
The fire brigade received 20 calls for help, three water pumps were made from houses and 12 people were taken to a safe place.
Vehicular traffic had to be stopped for a few hours, until the interventions deemed necessary by the authorities (P.E. Zakynthos, Technical Services, Department of Civil Protection) were completed for the drainage of the water and the removal of transported materials. Also, a small landslide occurred in Argasi and the road to Vassiliko was closed for a while.
Also, due to the heavy rainfall, a large landslide occurred in E.O. Zakynthos-Keriou, in the area of ​​Laikia.
Message from 112
In fact, at midday 112 was also called in Zakynthos, Kefalonia and Patras and the citizens received a warning message that referred to the occurrence of dangerous weather phenomena and it was recommended to limit movement during the phenomena, while there was also a meeting at the Ministry of Climate Crisis and Civil Protection .
During the night, the mountainous villages of the municipalities of Lamia and Makrakomi were dressed in white.
Warning messages from 112 were received yesterday in the first phase by the residents of the Ionian islands outside of Corfu as well as in Etoloakarnania, Achaia and Ilia.
A message followed to the inhabitants of Corinth, Argolis, Laconia, Messinia, Eastern Arcadia, Karditsa, Trikala and Western Macedonia.
The message speaks of strong storms and gale-force winds, while asking citizens to only make absolutely necessary movements and to follow the instructions of the Authorities.
Schools in Kefallonia and Ithaca will remain closed today (Thursday).
All Civil Protection forces have been put on maximum alert, while a new broad coordination meeting will be held within the day to re-evaluate the course of the bad weather.
