Eleven people playing dice arrested in Heraklion – 12,600 euros confiscated

Eleven locals were arrested last night in Heraklion by police officers of the Heraklion Security Sub-Directorate, accused of conducting and participating in illegal gambling. Their arrest took place during an operation, which was attended by police officers from the Department of Special Suppression Counter-Terrorism Unit of Crete, the Crime Prevention and Suppression Team of the Heraklion Security Sub-Directorate, the Police Operations Departments of Messara and Heraklion, as well as the team Heraklion Action.

According to the police, during a check in a store of health interest, it was found that a native, as temporarily in charge of the operation, had allowed ten people and in a specially designed space, their participation in the prohibited gambling “KYBOI-ZARIA” which and arrested.

During a search, the amount of 12,600 euros was found and confiscated, as coming from the gambling and three pairs of dice.

Also during a search of the national vehicle, a knife was found and confiscated.

Violations were also confirmed for violation of measures for the prevention and transmission of diseases and the anti-smoking law.

In addition, a case was filed against the owner.

The confiscated amount of money will be deposited in the Deposits and Loans Fund, while the preliminary investigation is carried out by the Heraklion Security Sub-Directorate.
