The purpose of the competition is to reward civil servants and officials, who have contributed through their actions and ideas to the digital transformation and modernization of the Public Administration
In the context of the mission of the Ministry of Digital Governance for the digital transformation of the state, the General Secretariat of Digital Governance and Process Simplification organizes for the second consecutive year the competition for the Digital Governance Awards, supporting the need for extroversion in public administration.
The purpose of the competition is to reward public servants and officials who have contributed through their actions and ideas to the digital transformation and modernization of the Public Administration.
Interested public bodies, civil servants or functionaries are invited from February 1 and until February 15, 2023 to submit their proposals on the digitalawards.gov.gr platform, where they can also be informed in detail about the terms of the competition.
The selection of the winners and the special event for their award will take place within the second quarter of 2023.
It is recalled that the digital governance awards are divided into the following five thematic categories:
(a) Public Administration, Self-Government and Justice,
(b) Economy, Development and Entrepreneurship,
(c) Health and Social Affairs,
(d) Education-Culture,
(e) Citizen Safety.
Each category is divided into the following two subcategories: (a) Best Implemented Idea, which awards ideas that are either in production or in test mode for at least three (3) months until the start of submission of applications, and (b) Best New Idea , which awards ideas that are in the conceptual or experimental stage, but have not yet been put into production or trial operation.
In each category, the first two implemented and new ideas are awarded, with the winners receiving a corresponding cash prize.
It is worth noting that the Digital Governance Awards were organized for the first time in 2022 and received a great response, marking a new era in the digital transformation of Public Administration.
