To declare the 70-year-old drummer guilty of the charge of sexually abusing a 6-year-old girl on 2011, the prosecutor of the seat of the mixed sworn appeals court asked the court. He also asked to correct the “procedural flaw” in granting a stay of construction, which had been granted to him at first instance. “I have no doubt that the defendant committed the acts of which he is accused,” the prosecutor said of the musician, who had previously been a member of Pyx Lax, adding that the 70-year-old “could not give any convincing answer.”
The prosecuting officer called it court to correct the contradiction and the “procedural blunder of the first instance court” that sentenced the musician to 12 years in prison “and at the same time allowed him to walk free. This blunder you are called upon today to smooth and abolish”.
As the prosecutor pointed out referring to the defendant, who is also pending another case of sexual violence against minors: “The defendant is possessed by a disturbed sexual world, with an absence of a sense of worth and an absence of guilt. All this is combined with a manipulative behavior of the defendant and to the court…”.
Apologizing a little earlier, the 70-year-old musician he appeared in court under a probe and denied the charge asking “how did I get to this point”, as he said “I have been honest, pure in my life, I have never caused any trouble to any man”. He also said that the girl’s parents convinced him by “taking advantage of her psychological instability” and that she is a victim. At the same time, he mentioned the health problems he is facing.
The 70-year-old claimed that the parents of the child who denounced him are taking revenge on him because he did not agree to testify falsely on their behalf. “I’ve been put in jail, 70 years old, for something I didn’t do. She says I molested her child. What did I have to do with her child? I had a job, a family, friends. I’m going to sit and deal with her child? Who the reason;” he said among other things. He also said that in May 2013, the minor’s father told him that he would be reported and “I lost the ground from under my feet. I am a person who loves people, respects them. So far, everyone supports me and believes in my innocence me. I got other principles from my parents. Even now I try to help people. I donate to the Church, to the Smile of the Child, to St. Cyprian, to St. Barbara, to the Virgin Mary of Kalamata. My wife and I also help . I respect everyone, from the disabled person to the prime minister and the king. They want to destroy my life.”
The court’s decision is expected next Friday.
