The building is owned by the Egyptian government and is located near the old Xenia Hotel in Limenas. It is a large area that is abandoned since it does not belong to the Municipality of Thassos and cannot be used. The former mayor Kostas Hadjiemmanouil had made moves for its utilization with the Egyptian embassy.

Within the specific area there is a tavern and warehouses. The grandmother had settled there with her grandson. According to information, the child has been abandoned by his father and lives with his grandmother.
