One of the houses that marked the nightlife of Rua Augusta, in São Paulo, Espaço Desmanche will reopen in February in a new neighborhood and with a new proposal, after closing its doors during the Covid pandemic.
From the time it was inaugurated, at the end of 2015, until 2020, the sidewalk at number 765 on Augusta used to concentrate young people in line waiting to enter the address —attracted by a musical program that included Brazilian music, electronic music and hip-hop, among others. other styles.
At the head of the place, Ronaldo Rinaldi, better known as DJ Click, helped to reinforce the alternative inclination of the region and the house —which had, in its decoration, old tiles and car structures like Kombis scattered throughout the rooms. Before Desmanche, there was also Clube Vegas, another classic from Baixo Augusta.
Desmanche’s new address will retain features of its previous version, an art gallery on Rua Barra Funda, and is located in a trendy spot, next to bars like Irregular and Mescla restaurant.
With a more urban feel, the house will have multiple vocations. The idea follows the lines of Curtiça, a bar in Vila Madalena opened by Click last year.
In addition to the dance floor, there will also be karaoke with no private rooms and a bar with a kitchen, where bar classics will come out.
The colorful drinks served at the Rua Augusta address should continue on the menu, like the drink that bears the name of the house, prepared with cachaça, mango syrup and passion fruit.
Missing people will be able to visit the space from the next 10th, already with pre-Carnival programming —after all, Desmanche is responsible for one of the megablocks that parade in the city.
Named after the bar, the block was created in 2016 by Click and his partner. When the idea was launched, the DJ intended to gather 2,000 people at the event.
But the party, which took place on Rua Augusta, was attended by an estimated over 100,000 revelers. The following year, the number doubled. This gave the block the chance to parade on Avenida 23 de Maio for an audience that is believed to have reached 2 million people in 2018.
Now, the revelry will take place in the Barra Funda region on the 18th, the Saturday when the city’s Carnival program heats up. There will also be a pre-Carnival event the day before, on Friday (17).
