Due to the extreme adverse weather conditions, the Thessaloniki Traffic Directorate announced that, from 23:00 on Saturday (04-02-2023) until the weather subsides, the traffic of any type of heavy vehicle with a maximum permissible weight of more than 3.5 tons will not be allowed in the flow of traffic in the direction of Thessaloniki to Athens on the road axis of the PATHE Motorway, from the Malgari toll road to the Kleidi junction. Vehicles with a final destination up to the city of Larissa are excluded.
In the announcement of the Traffic Directorate it is pointed out that for the permitted moving vehicles “on the above road network, which are destined for the prefectures Pieria, Larisa, Magnesia, Fthiotidas, Boeotia and Atticathe owners of cars of all other categories are reminded of the obligation to equip and use their vehicles with anti-skid chains or other similar anti-skid means, with the exception of vehicles with special tires (snow tires with a special marking of the “alpine” symbol)” .
