Another friend of his Alki Kampanou testified in court, as a witness to the bloody attack on February 1. The witness in question had been attacked with a sickle in the buttock area and was able to escape from the scene of the attack by the hooligans.

Yes, in deposit the 20-year-old audio engineering student was able to “show” that the second defendant was the one who asked him and his company “what band they are”.

“On Alki I remember one with a scythe. The one who asked us what group we were was a brown-blonde, tall and husky man” testified the 20-year-old pointing to the second accused in front of the interrogator.

In his introductory statement, the victim of the attack said: “That day I was writing an examination, I went to the Harilaou park with the rest of the children and all of us, who were there, went to the association for a while. I go there sometimes to watch Aris matches. Then we went to Papanastasiou creperie and finally to the stairs in the apartment building to sit for 45 minutes. The people came, they asked us what group we were. I only saw them from Plastira. It was too late when I saw them. At first we didn’t understand what happened. We answered that we are Mars. I understood that they came aggressively. I didn’t see any faces. To hide their features I assumed I didn’t want them to be seen. But I saw knives, sickles, clubs in their hands. Most of them were holding something. They came at me. At that moment I did not realize that I ate sickle. I thought it was a bat. I turned my back to avoid being attacked from the front. After five steps I saw that I was bleeding. I jumped over the bars and went out to Papanastasiou. When I was leaving I saw the people on Alkis and Angelos for a second or two. I couldn’t tell who was hitting whom. Spyros and Nikos were able to leave. I could hear Alki shouting for help and the perpetrators were shouting. Then I turned to see what happened. I saw them go to their cars. It was around 7-8 people.”

After the attack took place, Alki’s friend he then added: “I was in a lot of pain at the time. I found a dressing in a bin and bandaged my wound. I found Nikos in Papanastasiou and we saw an ambulance half an hour later. We signaled him to stop. There we learned that Alkis was killed, from the codes that the EKAV staff was saying. I was afraid of what I would see and did not return. I saw Angelos at the scene, Alkis never again.”

The 20-year-old also explained that “nobody had time to react” and that the attackers fell “at the same time they fell on us”.

“The doctors told me that it helped me a lot to bind the wound,” added the young student. “No one from the side of the accused has apologized to my family. It’s impossible not to hit Alkis and the others. If we didn’t leave, we would have the same fate as Alki” he added.

The examination of the 20-year-old continues, while his brother and another friend of theirs, who left the scene in time and avoided the attack, are expected to take the stage.

The process is being watched by the parents of 19-year-old Alkis, who have been in the crowded Criminal Court room since the first day of the trial.
