The Municipality of Piraeus collects long-lasting food, basic necessities and medical supplies, with the aim of sending them as humanitarian aid to those affected by the deadly earthquake in Turkey and Syria.
In particular, they are concentrated: Food with a long shelf life (legumes, canned goods, biscuits, nuts, baby food and other packaged foods with a long shelf life, bottled water, milk and juices). Medical equipment (painkillers, anti-inflammatories, gauze, bandages, first aid kits, saline, etc.).
Baby diapers, blankets, bedding, clothing for children and adults, personal hygiene items, masks, antiseptics, gloves, baby food, baby milk and baby care items.
The gathering will take place every day from today, Tuesday, February 7, at the following points:
Volunteer Office (Piraeus City Hall, Korai Square) 8:30-14:30
KO.D.E.P. (11 Zosimadon & El. Venizelou) 8:30-14:30
O.P.A.N. Municipal Swimming Pool, Votsalakia Beach (Karageorgi Servias 6) 7:00-21:00
Municipal Garage of the Municipality of Piraeus-(45 Retsina) 7:00-21:00
The mayor of Piraeus Yiannis Moralis, in a relevant statement, states:
“The Municipality of Piraeus is taking the initiative in order to practically support our fellow human beings, who are being tested in Turkey and Syria by the deadly earthquake. I call on Piraeus and organizations to help in this effort to provide humanitarian aid to the tested citizens in Turkey and Syria. Piraeus always shows its humanity and solidarity in major humanitarian crises and I am sure that it will do the same now.”
