Producers are worried about the damage that frost can cause to their crops

They are troubled producers in Argolis, because of today’s frost brought by the bad weather wave “Barbara”, which has been affecting Greece for the last 24 hours.

The temperature according to the EMY station in Pyrgela Argos reached up to -4, but there are also unofficial measurements from producers that recorded up to -6 in individual areas.

On the plain of Argolis on Wednesday morning, the camera recorded the ice crystals created by the anti-freeze protection used by growers to protect their products and plant capital.

Frost is one of the most frequent causes of destruction of plant production in Argolis in citrus fruits and outdoor vegetables. The reduction in production, which may result, is expected to increase the prices of some products as there will be a shortage.

In the coming days, most of Greece will experience severe frost, a fact that causes even greater concern to farmers.
