An emblematic project for the university community of Athens is expected to radically change the current disheartening image of the Student Residence
It was approved by the Inter-Ministerial Committee or submitted by NTUA in the General Secretariat of PPP – Public & Private Sector Partnerships – complete application for inclusion in the list of PPP projects for the total renovation of the old Student Residence of Zografou University of Technology (FEZ), budget €40,000,000. This approval is the starting point for the implementation of the total renovation of the old building Student Residence of Zografou Polytechnic University, the final studies and the implementation studies of which it is recalled that they were prepared by the Public Beneficial Foundation Alexandros S. Onassis and delivered to NTUA through a donation. A mature and necessary project for the upgrade of the services provided and the modernization of the building facilities which is expected to be completed soon through the process of its inclusion in the provisions of Law 3389/2005.
After the PPP approval follows the selection process of the consultants (financial, legal, technical), who together with NTUA will launch the tender process for the selection and nomination of the Private Partnership Body (PBO) that will undertake the study, financing, renovation and maintenance of the Student Residence of Zografou Polytechnic for twenty-eight years. The construction period is expected to last two (2) years. Thus, an emblematic project for the university community of Athens is expected to radically change the current disheartening image of the Student Residence.
The completion of the renovation responds to the needs of food, housing and hospitality beneficiaries for high quality services consistent with meeting modern living needs. The cooperation between the public and private sectors for the implementation of the project helps to speed up its implementation.
The rector of Metsovius sends his warm thanks, Professor Andreas Boudouvis, to the Directorates of Technical and Financial Services of the NTUA for their contribution to the management of the technical and financial issues and the decision-making processes that were necessary for the submission of the full application for inclusion in the list of PPP projects for the total renovation of the old Student Residence of the Polytechnic University Zografou. In charge of the entire preparation for the submission of the membership application was the Vice-Rector of Finance, Planning and Development Prof. E. Sapoundzakis.
