Yesterday, Archbishop Elpidophoros visited the Turkish Consulate in New York
In the creation Special Relief and Relief Fund of those affected by the devastating earthquake in Turkey and Syria is progressing the Archdiocese of Americaas Archbishop Elpidophoros of America announced yesterday with his message on social media.
“The money that will be collected in the fund”, he noted, “will be provided with the help of the competent authorities to our tested fellow human beings in the two countries”.
Yesterday, Mr Archbishop Elpidophoros visited the Turkish Consulate in New York, where he met with Consul Reyhan Osgur, to whom he expressed his deepest condolences for the loss of thousands of our fellow citizens in Turkey. At the same time, he expressed the hope and wish that the rescue crews will be able to rescue as many of our fellow human beings as are trapped in the ruins.
“My prayers go out to the heroes who are fighting day and night in the ruins and pushing themselves to save the trapped,” he said.
