Three elderly people from the Nursing Home of Korydallos were transferred from EKAV to Sygros Hospital on Tuesday with suspicion of scabies, from which they indeed suffered as it was found after medical tests.
As for the rest, it does not appear at first glance that they are suffering from scabies, however, further tests should be carried out in the next period of time.
The health authorities together with the Region of Attica are currently investigating the possibilities for transferring the elderly from the nursing home as it is difficult at this time for them to leave en masse for the hospitals on duty.

A. Since 2020, the Region of Attica has imposed fines of over 300 thousand euros and issued decisions to revoke the operating license and seal the specific unit in Korydallos.
B. The transfer of the elderly to the hospitals took place after the intervention of the Regional Governor of Attica, the political leadership of the Ministry. Health.
C. The current institutional framework does not allow the Region of Attica to proceed with the sealing of inappropriate corresponding structures. This is the responsibility of the Police.
Four truths about the history of handling this particular case
1st Truth: The Region of Attica, since 2020 and following relevant controls, has imposed high fines that exceed 300 thousand euros and has proceeded to issue three decisions to revoke the license as well as to seal the unit, through its competent services and that of Choriki Deputy Governor of Piraeus S. 3rd Truth: Today the Regional Governor of Attica G. Patoulis contacted both the Minister of Health Th. Pleuris as well as with the Ministry of Health Health M. Gaga, in order to coordinate the safe transport of the elderly to hospitals for examination of their clinical condition.
4th Truth: Throughout the previous period, the competent services, the Authorized Regional Health Advisor and the regional vice-prefect on the order of the Regional Prefect of Attica have taken all actions in order to inform the competent bodies and ministries of their actions, so that the removal of the elderly. It is noted that the competent service of the Region, the General Directorate of Public Health and Social Care, repeatedly requested with the assistance of the competent authorities from the care unit the details of the elderly and their relatives. However, the unit never produced them.
