Focus: Barrage of controls for compliance with the measures – In the “target” and winter destinations

From today and the following days of the holidays, the controls in the restaurants and entertainment stores will be intensive and extensive both for the observance of the schedule, as well as the measures concerning the seated, the number of people per table and the prohibition of music.

This was decided at a meeting aimed at coordinating the controls for the strict observance of the protection measures against the coronavirus that took place in the morning at the Maximos Palace.

In addition to the urban centers, special emphasis will be given by the control mechanisms to the winter tourist destinations, as well as to the ski resorts. Checks will also be carried out for recreational events in private venues for a fee or if they include rental or music entertainment services.

The meeting also launched the further tightening of the framework for the temporary suspension of the operation of restaurants and entertainment stores for the repeated violation of the measures for protection against the coronavirus.

The meeting was attended by the Minister of Climate Crisis and Civil Protection Christos Stylianidis, the Minister of State Akis Skertsos, the Deputy Minister of Citizen Protection Lefteris Oikonomou, the Deputy Minister under the Prime Minister and Government Spokesman Giannis Skamostas Anastoros Katamostas Grimastos Oikonstos General Secretary of Civil Protection Vassilis Papageorgiou, the General Secretary of Coordination of Government Project Thanasis Kontogeorgis, the Chief of the Greek Police Michael Karamalakis and the Commander of the National Transparency Authority Angelos Binis.
