Today, Wednesday, February 15, at 11:00, the submission of business applications for the 1,000 additional positions of the “special pre-employment program for unemployed young people, aged 18-29, from the regions of Western Macedonia and Peloponnese, affected by the effects of de-lignitization”, which is implemented in the context of the “social package” of the Public Employment Service (DYPA) to support employment and social cohesion in the lignite areas.

Beneficiaries are unemployed, aged 18-29 and the duration of the program is seven months.

DYPA pays compensation equal to the minimum wage and a proportion of gifts and leave allowance.

It is recalled that the first 2,000 positions of the program were filled within 2022 and the additional 1,000 positions were secured by increasing the budget by 8.5 million euros.

Applications will remain “open” until the positions are filled.

The program is addressed to private sector businesses, as well as to businesses, institutions and organizations of the public sector and local government businesses of the first and second degree, which regularly carry out economic activity in the Region of Western Macedonia and in areas of the Region of Peloponnese (municipalities of Megalopolis, Tripoli, Gortynia, Sparta, Oichalia and Kalamata).

As stated in the relevant announcement, the application process is simple.

Businesses submit a single online application to the Integrated Information System (ISIS) of DYPA, via the website www.dypa.gov.gr.

DYPA confirms that the business meets the conditions.

DYPA’s employment advisers indicate to the company candidates, according to the required qualifications of the vacant position.

The company chooses among the candidates and signs an agreement with the unemployed person.

The program, with a total budget of 22,400,000 euros, is co-financed by the Greek State and the European Social Fund/Youth Employment Initiative, within the Operational Program “Human Resource Development, Education and Lifelong Learning 2014-2020”.
