Ministers and deputy ministers of EU member states and countries of the European Economic Area, European commissioners and heads of European Organizations, such as Frontex and Europol, will participate in the Conference – in person.
In Athens, on February 23-24, 2023, the 2nd European Conference on Border Management will take place.
Ministers and deputy ministers of EU member states and countries of the European Economic Area, European commissioners and heads of European Organizations, such as Frontex and Europol, will participate in the Conference – in person.
Participants will exchange views on measures, tools and related possibilities and policies, including that of returns and addressing existing and future challenges in EU border management.
On Thursday, February 23, the Minister of Immigration and Asylum, Mr. Notis Mitarakis, will announce, during the working dinner, the opening of the Conference (on camera), while the Vice-President of the European Commission, responsible for the Promotion of the European Way of Life, Mr. Margaritis Schinas (on camera).
On Friday, February 24, during the working meeting of the Conference participants, the EU Commissioner for Internal Affairs, Mrs. Ylva Johansson.
The representatives of the Conference’s organizing countries (Greece, Austria, Lithuania, Poland) will hold a press conference on Friday, February 24, (12:00-13:00). There will be interpretation in English, French, German, Greek, Spanish and Italian.
The Conference is held with the funding of the Migration and Home Affairs Funds of the European Union.
The work of the Conference, the dinner and the press conference will take place within the premises of the “Four Seasons Astir Palace Hotel Athens”, but in different rooms.
