Members of student unions ask students to refrain from the current process and to hold student elections for life
Protest outside the Rector’s Office of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, students protesting against the electronic voting for the nomination of student representatives to the institution’s bodies.
The students had decided to proceed from 7 am to conquest of the administration building, however the blinds were down.
Members of student associations they ask by the students to stay away from today’s process and make the student elections for life. The students are talking about “mock” elections and are demanding that they be cancelled.
Today’s election process is conducted exclusively electronically, through the special information system called “ZEFS Digital Ballot” of the Greek Public Company under the name “National Network of Technology and Research Infrastructures S.A.” (EDYTE SA). on from 09:00 to 16:00.
If the process is unsuccessful, it will be repeated on the next working day, i.e. on 22-02-2023 from 09:00 to 16:00.
The election of the representatives is carried out by a single ballot that includes all the prospective students per study cycle of each Department
