Greek citizenship was awarded to Professor Kevin Featherstone, in a special ceremony held at Megaros Maximos.

Mr. Featherstone is Professor of Modern Greek Studies, holder of the “Eleftherios Venizelos” Chair, and Professor of European Politics at the London School of Economics. He is also Director of the Hellenic Observatory, which is internationally recognized as one of the leading research centers for modern Greece and Cyprus. The Hellenic Observatory is part of the LSE’s European Institute.
Kevin Featherstone’s academic research focuses on the European Union and contemporary Greece, in the fields of comparative politics, public policies and political economy.
He was the first non-Greek member of the National Research and Technology Council in Greece, from 2010 to 2013.
In 2013 he was honored with the award of ‘Brigadier of the Order of the Phoenix’ by the President of the Hellenic Republic and in 2021 with the award of ‘Senior Brigadier of the Order of the Phoenix’ of the Hellenic Republic.
