Ioannina students proved they are strong mathematical minds with four bringing home medals
Students from Ioannina achieved important distinctions in the 40th National Mathematical Olympiad “Archimedes” organized by the Hellenic Mathematical Society.
According to a publication of the epiruspost.gr website, the students of the area proved that they are strong mathematical minds with four bringing medals.
In particular, the student of the 3rd Lyceum in Dodonaia Giorgos Tzachristas won the first place and got a gold medal, while three more medals were brought by students of the high schools that took part in the competition.
Silver winners are Giorgos Zaverdas and Ioannis Kavousianos, students at the Standard High School of Zosimaia School, and bronze winner Theofanis Tzachristas, student of the 3rd High School of Ioannina.
The competitions of the Hellenic Mathematical Society are an established institution from which the best are selected and are organized with great success every year by the local branches.
The best mathematical minds take part in these competitions and with their participation in the three phases “Thales”, “Euclid” and “Archimedes”, the national teams that represent our country in the Mathematics Olympiads and Balkaniads are selected and formed.
