The complaints of Pavlos Polakis that were made public with his post on Clean Monday about the acquisition of a luxury residence in Psychiko by the former general secretary of Anti-Crime Policy Sofia Nikolaou and the request of his replacement in the Transparency sector of the opposition party officer Yiannis Ragousis, for prosecutorial intervention, they have already engaged the prosecution authorities.

According to information, the Financial Prosecutor is already conducting an investigation, based on publications and public statements from the official opposition, regarding direct assignments on behalf of Mrs. Nikolaou, and in particular the said investigation is being conducted by order of the head of the Financial Prosecutor Christos Bardakis, the assistant prosecutor Panagiotas Ioannidou.

The investigation into direct assignments is carried out with the assistance of the SDOE by the prosecutor Panagiota Ioannidou and recently saw the light of day a preliminary conclusion from the SDOE on the case in question, which had caused a political confrontation and the reaction of Sofia Nikolaou herself.

According to information, the Financial Prosecutor’s Office, in addition to the assignments, which it is already investigating, does not have the authority to deal with the essence of the whereabouts of Sofia Nikolaou, as the investigation into the whereabouts is done for all those who hold or have held public positions from competent services of the Anti-Money Laundering Authority. The services in question have not yet made their movements known.

Regarding the fact that the address of Sofia Nikolaou’s residence in Psychiko was made public and there were related photos as well as the publication of its purchase contract, prosecutorial sources made it known that the Prosecutor’s Office is not expected to intervene ex officio, for a violation personal data, as Sofia Nikolaou herself has the legal ability to file a relevant lawsuit.
