Eggs, butter, sugar and a whole lemon will mix and fill a tart.

What you will need:

  • 1/2 cup salted butter, melted
  • 1 whole lemon
  • 1 1/4 cups sugar
  • vanilla (optional)
  • ready-made tart dough
  • powdered sugar and lemon slices for garnish

How to make it:

Preparation: Preheat the oven to 180 degrees.

  1. Cut the lemon into pieces and remove the seeds. Put everything in the blender and work until it becomes a smooth mixture. If there are some small pieces of lemon peel – it’s ok.
  2. Spread the dough in a tart pan and add the filling. Bake for 45 minutes or until the surface is set and golden brown. Sprinkle with icing sugar and garnish with a lemon slice.
  3. You can serve it warm or let it cool for about 2 hours in the fridge.

Notes:

Use a whole, regular lemon for this recipe. The white part of the lemon is the most bitter. Look for lemons with thinner skins, so you can use the whole lemon. If you do not like bitter foods and the lemon you have has a thick skin, it is better to remove a large part of the white flesh.
