The producers of apricots, peaches and nectarines in Imathia, Pella, Florina, Larissa and Kozani will be compensated with 70 euros per hectare.

The compensation concerns the consequences faced by the producers due to the energy crisis and the request to freeze the amount was forwarded today by the Ministry of Rural Development and Food, to the Ministry of Finance.

The arrangement concerns 246,315 productive acres and includes those producers who have not already received corresponding compensation. The same request includes a commitment of an amount for compensation for damage due to summer rains in the same areas and for the same crops.

Those producers who are beneficiaries of both measures will receive a total of 150 Euros (70 Euros + 80 Euros) per productive hectare for table peaches, apricots and nectarines and 135 Euros (70 Euros + 65 Euros) for processing peaches. The 2nd measure concerns 177,141 productive acres.

It is noted that in all the above compensation measures, 50% of the stipulated compensation is paid to non-main occupation farmers.

In this way, the government practically supports the producers who were faced with the effects of climate change and the energy crisis.
