The police of Grevena proceeded to investigate a total of 40 thefts – break-ins and attempted thefts in holy temples, houses – warehouses, public use vehicles, a store of health interest and a building of a cultural association. Six people were arrested for the case, three 22-year-olds, two 19-year-olds (a man and a woman) and a minor.

According to the multi-month investigation, from October 2021 to December 2022, the perpetrators using the same methodology, breached the doors or cupboards or, as the case may be, the places where the money and other valuables were kept and after removing them, boarded their vehicles and were moving away from the points.

In more detail, the 29 thefts and break-ins or attempts were committed in churches, five in houses – warehouses, three in public passenger cars, one in a store of health interest in Grevena and two in a building of a cultural association, in the area of ​​Kozani. The total value of the stolen items, money and the damages caused amounts to at least 8,275 euros.

After the issuance of the arrest warrants that were issued, an operation was organized by police officers of the Grevena Security Department and the Crime Suppression Prevention Team (OPKE) of the Grevena Police Department, during which the six nationals were located and arrested.

In searches carried out on their premises, various burglary tools, one revolver, three air guns, including two rifles and one pistol, cartridges, five knives, six crossbow arrows, one bayonet case, mobile phone devices were found and confiscated , money and gold.

The preliminary investigation continues for the possible participation of the perpetrators in other similar criminal acts, while those arrested were taken to the investigating officer.
