The Council of State fiscally validated fines etc. amounting to 3,080,874 euros to a company for the illegal import of 2,229,096 tons banana.

In particular, the company from Kavala Customs imported through Ravennas, Italy, with fake certificates and reduced duties, 2,229,096 tons of bananas from Ecuador, South America.

However, the forgery of the import certificates was revealed and a multiple smuggling fee was imposed for 6 cases of illegal importation of bananas.

The company then appealed to the Administrative Courts, but was not vindicated and in 2014 filed with the Council of State an appeal against the decisions of the Komotini Administrative Appeals Court, with which it was awarded the amount of 3,080,874 euros for multiple smuggling fees.

Nine years after the appeal was filed with the Council of State, the latter rejected the company’s appeal with 6 decisions.
